Born in Fairview, Jamie is a fourth-generation farmer, entrepreneur, and proud son of Western
North Carolina. A graduate of A.C. Reynolds High School and Warren Wilson College, Jamie
and his wife Amy have raised a family and built Hickory Nut Gap Farm up to support 25
employees and work with dozens of farmers across our region. He’s running for Congress with
a platform centered around getting us the money we need to recover from Hurricane Helene,
bringing down the cost of living, and restoring people’s trust in our government.
Doss Church & The Unholy Noise
is an Asheville-based Americana Rock & Roll band led by
experienced singer/songwriter, Doss Church, that combines Americana, Country, and Folk Rock
influences that range from the 60s to today and delivers a sound that feels both new and old at
the same time. The honest songwriting, veteran musicianship, and electric stage presence of
the entire group make for a truly moving live performance.
The Lucky Buckeyes
are a slightly ragtag group of family and friends from Fairview. They play
traditional fiddle tunes, contemporary bluegrass, and a smattering of folk and country covers.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase by the Grey Eagle Music Hall and Taqueria.

Our market serves a diverse shopper base consisting of young families, professionals, and seniors. The Greer Farmers Market is a non-profit 501c3 farmers market in the State of South Carolina. Our mission is to support local farmers, bakers, and hand-made businesses by providing an accessible platform to sell in-season items directly to Greer’s residents and visitors.

ABE REID
Abe Reid is a North Carolina musician and one of the modern keepers of the Piedmont roots music tradition. Born in Forsyth County and raised in Statesville, Reid began playing guitar at a young age, developing a deep connection to the region’s historic finger-style traditions.
His musical education came directly from the source. As a young player, he spent time with legendary Carolina musicians Guitar Gabriel and Cootie Stark, learning not only guitar technique but also the storytelling and spirit behind traditional American music.

In the 1990s, Reid immersed himself in the life of a working musician, busking on the streets of New Orleans before returning to North Carolina’s music scene. He later helped form the roots band The Blue Rags, known for energetic performances and traditional sounds.

Reid gained international recognition when he won the International Blues Challenge in Memphis—becoming the first solo performer to win the competition.

Today, Abe Reid continues to perform, teach, and share the music of the American South, passing on knowledge learned from older musicians and decades on the road.

Closing out the season is TANASI, an award-winning Asheville-based “worldgrass” trio uniting three acclaimed roots artists: Billy Cardine on dobro and slide, MerleFest-winning songwriter Anya Hinkle on vocals and guitar, and Mary Lucey (Biscuit Burners, Uncle Earl) on vocals, upright bass, and clawhammer banjo. Recipients of a 2025 National Endowment for the Arts USArtists International Grant, the trio has performed on stages including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Ryman Auditorium, Bonnaroo, and MerleFest.

A king of Crescent City, Porter’s contribution to the evolution of funk music profoundly influenced rap, R&B, and rock ‘n’ roll.

VENTURE SHAKESPEARE ANNOUNCES OUTDOOR PRODUCTION OF ‘MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING’ STARRING RSC’S ANDREW FRENCH AND KIRSTIN LEIGH DANIEL
ASHEVILLE, NC — This August, theater under the stars returns to the heart of Asheville. Venture Shakespeare is proud to present William Shakespeare’s romantic comedy, Much Ado About Nothing, for a special two-night-only engagement on August 21 and 22, 2026. Staged entirely outdoors on the scenic front lawn of Kenilworth Presbyterian Church, this immersive, family-friendly production brings high-caliber theatrical artistry directly to the community.
Produced by Founding Artistic Director Kirstin Leigh Daniel (who also steps into the role of the sharp-witted Beatrice), this unique production blends the timeless structures of Elizabethan silhouettes with the organic romance of a modern Appalachian mountain wedding brought to life by Resident Costume Designer Tyler Ogburn. Audiences will watch the legendary "war of wits" unfold directly underneath the sprawling canopy of Kenilworth’s historic, beautiful old trees.
Adding tremendous prestige to the Asheville Theatre Scene, the production stars acclaimed international actor Andrew French of the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) as the cynical bachelor Benedick. French’s extensive classical background brings a masterclass in Shakespearean acting to Western North Carolina, striking an electric comedic dynamic alongside Daniel’s formidable Beatrice.
“We are thrilled to mount a production that feels both grande in its classical scope and incredibly intimate," says Daniel. “Staging Much Ado directly examines the struggles that women still face on a daily basis and gives us the folly, joy, and romance we all so desperately need right now.”
The performances serve as the crown jewel of Venture Shakespeare's annual Summer Program. This quick-witted, fast-paced adaptation is designed to be accessible, raucous, and deeply moving for theater veterans and first-time audiences alike. The cast includes Venture Veterans; Lochlan Angle, Lucius Robinson, Lori Evans, and Casey Morris. This year adds Resident Movement Specialist Monika Gross to the stage, Alongside new faces to Asheville, Clementine Wurzbach, Natalie Ahn, and David Bertoldi. Rounding out the ensemble includes Local Theatre Educator and Director of Cardboard Sea Todd Weakley, Ann Forster and Pastor Allen Smith of KPC. The Weekend will feature local vendors, live music from homegrown Sarah Tucker, and festive family friendly pre-show games and activities.
