Benjamin Tod and the Inline Six 2026 Tour

Heavy Lifters are a ska band from WNC, present SKAlloween at 185 King Street in Brevard, NC on 10/24/26. This is the 3rd annual Skalloween hosted by the lifters and they have a set of Halloween themed tunes, a costume contest, stand-up comedy, and other surprises in store. The winner of the costume contest will win a $50 gift card and a Heavy Lifters hat! You don't want to miss this. Come and get down with the spookiest ska band around.

Musical mad scientist Keller Williams is a festival staple, best known for his whimsical lyrics, guitar prowess, and creating looping samples on the fly during live shows with nothing pre-recorded. The result often leans toward a hybrid of alternative folk and groovy electronica.

The NC Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Flood Resiliency Blueprint will hold three in-person public open houses in the French Broad River Basin to gather community feedback on flood resilience approaches, community preferences and regional priorities.

The feedback will inform the French Broad River Basin Action Strategy, which will identify and prioritize locally driven actions, including projects and policies, to reduce long-term flood risk across the basin. The action strategy is also being guided by scientific data and long-term sustainability objectives, ensuring the strategy is both effective and responsive to the basin’s evolving needs.

The French Broad River Basin Action Strategy will be presented to the NC General Assembly (NCGA) in 2027. In 2021, the NCGA directed DEQ to develop the Flood Resiliency Blueprint, which now supports the planning, evaluation and implementation of flood resilience strategies. It is the largest proactive statewide flood mitigation investment in North Carolina history, equipping local governments, the state and supporting organizations with data, tools and processes to better understand flood risk, identify community needs and guide strategic investments to reduce flood risk and strengthen resilience.

Members of the public and program partners, including municipal officials and organizations interested in flood resilience, are encouraged to attend and share their input.

Bullington Gardens Partners with Wild Birds Unlimited and The Blood Connection to Host Community Blood Drive Featuring Student Scarecrows and Festive Photo Ops
HENDERSONVILLE, NC — Bullington Gardens will host a community Blood Drive on Tuesday, October 27 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with The Blood Connection. Sponsored by dedicated Bullington Gardens volunteers Mary and Dave Martin, alongside Lutrelle and Carey O'Cain of Wild Birds Unlimited, this lifesaving event blends critical community action with seasonal autumn fun.
Blood donors and guests will have the unique opportunity to stroll through the 12-acre botanical gardens while viewing a creative exhibition of custom scarecrows, crafted entirely by local Henderson County Public Schools (HCPS) students. To celebrate the fall season, the event will also feature a selection of festive "spooky snacks" and dedicated photo opportunities tucked within the autumn foliage.
"We are incredibly proud to partner with our passionate volunteers and local business leaders like The Blood Connection and Wild Birds Unlimited to host an event that gives back so directly" said Greg Stivland, Director of Bullington Gardens. "While our primary goal is saving lives through critical blood donations, we invite the community to stick around, enjoy the masterful scarecrows designed by our local students, and experience the beautiful autumn scenery the garden has to offer. If we get at least 30 donors, The Blood Connection will provide a $500.00 grant which is being matched by our sponsors, to support our educational and horticultural therapy programming."

Emmy and SAG-nominated actor, comedian, and author Kevin Nealon is best known for his nine-year stint as a cast member of NBC's Saturday Night Live, and has received critical acclaim for his role in the Showtime series Weeds. Kevin most recently starred on the CBS-TV comedy series Man With A Plan, produces and hosts digital series Hiking with Kevin, and tours his stand-up globally.

NEAL FRANCIS
Neal Francis’ music is an intoxicating blend of funk, soul, and rock that evokes the glory days of the 60s and 70s but is undeniably fresh. His 2019 debut album, Changes, drew lavish applause, hailed as “the reincarnation of Allen Toussaint” by BBC Radio 6 and lauded by KCRW and more. Francis’s acclaimed 2nd LP, In Plain Sight, followed in 2021. Led by top 5 Americana radio favorite, “Can’t Stop The Rain,” the album earned international praise from such publications as MOJO, who wrote, “Francis digs deep on guileless rock and soul with bold flourishes.” Accolades followed, including a 2022 Americana Music Awards nomination and Libera Award nominations in 2022 and 2024. Francis has sold out shows globally, shared the stage with Wilco, The Meters, My Morning Jacket and Black Pumas, appeared at major festivals such as Bonnaroo, Fuji Rock, Newport Folk, Lollapalooza, and performed on national TV. SAM FRIBUSH ORGAN TRIO

Join Adam Booth, the 2022 West Virginia Folk Artist of the Year, as he shares a program of seasonally spooky stories from the heart of Appalachia. Adam will take you on a journey to the deepest dark hollers, sharing traditional stories of haints, witches, and dreadful omens in the night. The event is in MHU's Owen Theatre and is free - seating is first-come, first-served.

Tate Addis, St. James Artist-in-Residence, has been acclaimed for “spectacular” performances and “deeply communicative musicality.” He will be playing J. S. Bach’s infamous Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain, Dukas’ The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and other works. He has appeared as a recitalist throughout the United States and Europe. A graduate of Wichita State University, Yale University, and Oberlin Conservatory, he currently serves as Organist and Associate Conductor at Centenary United Methodist Church in Winston Salem.
