On Saturday, November 22, Continuum Art will come alive with an evening of extraordinary live music featuring 2025 North Carolina Music Hall of Fame inductee David Childers.
Fresh off his 2025 North Carolina Music Hall of Fame induction, Childers, one of the state’s most respected singer-songwriters will bring his signature blend of heartfelt lyricism, folk storytelling, and Americana energy to an intimate stage at Continuum Art
The evening kicks off with performances from a powerful lineup of emerging regional talents: Cody Gentry, Dylan Walsh, and A. Lee Edwards, each adding their own unique flavor to a night that promises to showcase the rich depth of Carolina music.

The Pinnacle String Ensemble presents its Fall Concert, “Though Space and Time,” on Saturday, November 22, at 3:00 pm in Coulter Recital Hall at Western Carolina University. The concert features music that represents the planets, the moon, and stars.
This concert brings together the WCU School of Music and the Chemistry and Physics Departments in an interdisciplinary collaboration. Dr. Enrique Gomez, Associate Professor of Astronomy and Physics, will open the program by sharing some of the interesting discoveries in the field of astronomy with images taken by Dr. Gomez and his students.
The Pinnacle String Ensemble is directed by Kim Neidlinger, Adjunct Instructor of Music Education. The program begins with the first movement of Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 43, “Mercury”. Other selections features movements from Mozart’s Symphony No. 41, “Jupiter”, “Mars” from The Planets by Gustav Holst, “Song To the Moon” from the opera, Rusalka by Antonin Dvorak, “Quiet Night of Quiet Stars” by Antonio Carlos Jobim and concludes with Frank Sinatra’s signature standard by Bart Howard, “Fly Me to The Moon”.
The Pinnacle String Ensemble is in its second season as a collegiate-community ensemble. The concert is free and open to the public.
Buncombe Turnpike is a long-time staple in the Asheville bluegrass scene. Their sets are made up of primarily hand-crafted original songs, but the band also plays a variety of other heartfelt tunes ranging from traditional and contemporary bluegrass. With their crowd-pleasing demeanor, seasoned musicianship, and powerful vocals the band has made a name for themselves among traditional and contemporary listeners alike. Band members are, Tom Godleski (lead vocals and upright bass), Korey Warren (guitar , mandolin, and lead and backing vocals), David Hyatt (guitar, mandolin ,and lead and backing vocals), George Buckner (banjo), and Don Lewis (fiddle, mandolin, and lead and backing vocals).

Live Reggae with rotating bands every Sunday!
This is a grass-roots fundraiser specifically to raise money for families of Westmoreland~ Jamaica, who lost their roofs and suffered severe damages from Hurricane Melissa in late October. There will be a DJ & Live Reggae and World Music throughout the day, with special guests to sit in. Charley King's Food Truck will be there serving authentic Jamaican food throughout the event. We will have a silent auction and raffle with items donated by local artists & businesses. This is a free event however folks are encourage to donate and/or participate in our auction, raffle and delicious Jamaican cuisine.
You like to feel the swing? Then this next concert is for you as the Asheville Jazz Orchestra will pay tribute to Duke Ellington and Count Basie at White Horse Black Mountain on Nov 23rd. Join us as we celebrate these two legends of jazz and big band. AJO is an 18 piece, ful tilt, jazz BigBand featuring vocalist Wendy Jones!

Since 2011 North Carolina’s Josh Daniel and friends have been paying tribute to The Band’s 1974 “farewell” concert and film, The Last Waltz. What began as an annual Thanksgiving concert has expanded to a touring musical tribute. Plan now to attend this breath-taking service, which is an Advent tradition at St. James! Two identical services are offered and will both feature the St. James Choir and Montreat Scottish Pipes and Drums. Director of Music Brad Gee will lead the choir in singing carols and anthems appropriate to the readings. Brennan Szafron will be the organist for the service. While no tickets are required, contributions of any amount are welcome and appreciated in support of the music ministry at St. James. A minimum donation of $10 per person is suggested.

Mark your calendars — December 5, 2025, through January 5, 2026 — the beloved Deck the Trees holiday tradition is back, bigger and brighter than ever!
Now celebrating 15 years, Deck the Trees will once again bring holiday wonder to Black Mountain and Swannanoa, all for a great cause. This cherished fundraiser benefits the Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministry (SVCM) Fuel Fund, which helps neighbors in need to keep their homes warm during winter.
This year’s theme, “Christmas in Music & Song,” will inspire more than 50 beautifully decorated trees across town. You’ll find many of them at Peri Social House, Tyson Furniture Company, and White Horse Black Mountain, plus dozens of other local businesses decked out for the season.
How It Works:From December 5 to January 5, you can vote for your favorite tree(s) by donating $1 per vote. Vote as many times as you’d like. Every dollar goes directly to the SVCM Fuel Fund. Suffolk Punch and Grievous Angels Announce “Holiday Jam” Fundraiser December 7th
Charlotte’s Suffolk Punch Brewery and Grievous Angels Band have announced a “Holiday Jam” show for December 7th, from 2:00PM-7:00PM at the Southend location in Charlotte in support of Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. Tickets are available in advance here or can be purchased at the door for $15 the day of the show. 100% of the proceeds will go the Second Harvest.
“We love the idea of the fundraiser” said Suffolk Punch General Manager, Jonathan Ball. “Grievous Angels plays a lot of shows in our town and we were excited to do this event with them. And everyone knows Second Harvest and what a good job they do fighting hunger. It’ll be a great event.”
The show will feature Grievous Angels and special guests performing 3:00PM and 6:00PM. Guest artists are being confirmed now.
“We are excited to play a show at a fun location like Suffolk Punch and especially with the funds going to Second Harvest” said Grievous Angels drummer, Jim Gamble. “We’ve played around the region for more than a decade and we love the chance to play a show for a great charity.”
