The award-winning Asheville Drag Brunch is back with another spectacular Saturday brunch on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Banks Ave. Bar. Shows are at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Expect big performances, bigger hair, and the biggest delicious brunch from Biscuit Head South. Proceeds benefit Youth OUTright. The area's longest-running and award-winning professional drag brunch show is hosted by the effervescent Koko Dove, with dazzling performances by Sya Cox O'Hara, Jasmine Summers, and special guest Sunny Dior; a lineup so good it should come with a warning label. Craft Your Own Garden Masterpiece: A Two-Part Mosaic Workshop

Add a touch of ancient artistry to your backyard! Join us at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts for a hands-on workshop where you’ll create a one-of-a-kind mosaic birdbath. Whether you’re a total beginner or have dabbled in mosaics before, this class guides you through every step of the process—from design and ceramic cutting to the final grouting.

In the first session, you’ll design your pattern and adhere your chosen ceramic pieces to the birdbath. In the second session, you’ll learn the art of grouting with a variety of colors to choose from. You will leave with a beautiful, functional piece of garden art and the foundational skills to create mosaics of all shapes and sizes!

When: Sat, April 18 (12:30–4:00 PM) & Sun, April 19 (12:30–2:30 PM)

Where: Art Room, BMCA (Please enter through the bottom back door)

Tuition: $90 (Includes all supplies; $5 discount for members)

GCCA is hosting an Art Supply Flea Market!

Who: GCCA members can apply to sell; the public is welcome to shop

GCCA members are invited to apply to be vendors and sell art supplies, tools, and materials. Tables will be provided, and vendors pay a flat $15 fee. Vendors may sell items in whatever format is most convenient for them.

In addition, we’ll host a Free For All table for scraps, well-loved, or extra supplies—drop off items you no longer need or take something new-to-you for free.

Black Pistol Fire is a high-energy Canadian rock duo renown for their explosive live perfomances and gritty blues-infused rock sound. The "Dark City is raising its voice! Join us at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts on Saturday, April 18, for the return of The Dark City Speaks: An Evening of Poetry. This powerful collaboration between BMCA, the Friends of the Black Mountain Library, and the Dark City Poets Society brings together the best of our regional literary scene for one unforgettable night of verse.

The evening journey begins with fresh perspectives from local college students, followed by a dynamic performance from the Dark City Poets Society. The night culminates in readings from three of the region's most celebrated literary voices: David Brendan Hopes, Lockie Hunter, and Allan Wolf. Whether you are a lifelong lover of poetry or a newcomer to the spoken word, come experience the rhythm, heart, and storytelling that make our mountain community so unique.

She has ignited audiences at major festivals including the International Montreal Jazz Festival and Germany’s Open Strings Guitar Festival, along with hundreds of performing arts centers across the U.S. and around the world. In addition to being a virtuosic instrumentalist, Vicki is an award winning singer/songwriter and electrifying performer, fusing folk, jazz, pop, soul, and world music into a bold, genre-defying sound all her own.

Ali Tod

Scottish guitarist and singer Ali Tod blends modern percussive fingerstyle guitar techniques with classical training and loop-pedal mastery, to create a live acoustic experience that gets hands clapping, hips shaking and feet stomping. Her dazzling guitar skills combined with her powerful, raw vocals have been enthralling audiences at festivals all around the world, and she is now ready to take the USA by storm. If Rodrigo y Gabriela and KT Tunstall combined to make a one-woman show, it would be Ali Tod.

This 2 Day Intensive will teach many techniques including sawing, filing, polishing, soldering, textures, and more!
Included is 10 hours of access to Open Studio sessions (Wed/Thurs 11-4) valid for 2 months from class.
