Grey Eagle in Asheville

From WNCW Program Director Joe Kendrick: This is the first of a two episode series on BJ Barham, front man of NC band American Aquarium, with in depth conversations with BJ as well as guests Ronda Chollock, a music promoter from Charlottesville, Virginia, and music artist Tyler Boone, who grew up in Charleston, South Carolina, but now calls Hollywood, CA home. We get into topics like how Barham articulates the dark history of the South so that people will start having conversations about racial and class divides, however uncomfortable those conversations might be.

Live Friday, May 24th between 4 & 5pm: Tim O'Brien Band

May 18, 2019

We're excited to welcome back one of 'NCW's favorites, this time with his bluegrass band! After first hitting the scene fronting Colorado bluegrass band Hot Rize in the '80's, Tim O'Brien has proven to be one of the most versatile, talented, and prolific of roots music leaders, be it Celtic, old-time, or his own singer/songwriter originals. He's back to his bluegrass roots these days, and Tim & co. play the Grey Eagle on Sunday the 26th.

He was a musician and actor on the beloved Andy Griffith Show, he's been inducted into the International Bluegrass Music Association Hall of Fame, and he's revered as a cornerstone of both country rock and progressive bluegrass. Rodney Dillard still keeps quite a busy schedule, which includes a show with his band at The Grey Eagle on Monday night. Rodney visits with Martin on Monday morning following the Ten O'Clock Doc spotlight on Doc Watson.
