Sundays from 4 to 6 pm enjoy Greenville Jazz Collective's Sunday Jazz Jam! The jam is open to all ages and skill levels — and there is no cover charge to simply attend and enjoy.

The Greenville Jazz Collective (GJC) preserves and promotes jazz in Upstate South Carolina. GJC stewards this important American art form through the promotion of live performance to support our local musicians, as well as educational events and programs to nurture the next generation of jazz musicians.

Enjoy a cool Sunday afternoon of hot jazz by the French Broad River in Olivette! Blair Crimmins, an Atlanta-based musician, revives ragtime and 1920s Dixieland jazz with a modern edge. A multi-instrumentalist, he has toured internationally and opened for Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Old Crow Medicine Show.

ROSS HOLLOW WITH FULL BAND
Ross Hollow is an indie folk artist out of Asheville, North Carolina rooted in honest lyricism, inviting melodies and a rugged spirit of individualism. Founded by singer-songwriter and producer Stuart Ross Johnson-Kwochka, Ross Hollow has come full circle: from its beginnings as a solo act, to a full band, and now back to its core with Stuart Ross at the helm, writing and recording from a quiet corner in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Ross Hollow’s music is as much about place as it is about people. Born in the high desert of Roswell, New Mexico, his earliest memories are steeped in the sounds of Spanish folk, cowboy ballads, and classic country—music that echoed under wide-open skies, thunderstorms you could see miles away, and sun-drenched plains. He later moved to Burnsville, North Carolina, where Appalachian gospel, bluegrass, and Scots-Irish folk music left their mark. He later moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, where he was surrounded by heartland rock, chicago blues and rust-belt emo, which began to shape his own songwriting voice.

Now settled back in Asheville, Ross Hollow finds inspiration in fog-draped mornings, rhododendron thickets, the quiet of mountain trails, and the wild animals all around. Recent work leans into a more organic, acoustic sound, rich with finger picked guitar, warm harmonies, and collaborations with guest vocalists and string players that evoke the natural beauty in Southern Appalachia

The Jazz Showcase is curated by esteemed pianist, scholar, and UNC Asheville music professor Dr. Bill Bares; this showcase series is dedicated to bringing the region’s finest jazz musicians and most compelling sounds to our stage in a true listening room experience.

All throughout September, guests are invited to join the mountain’s naturalists as they count and celebrate the annual spectacle of fall raptor migration. Participants can observe the migration from viewing locations on Linville Peak (across the Mile High Swinging Bridge) and Half Moon Overlook (the first major overlook when entering the park). Included with admission.

Dr Funky Squirrel
Dr. Funky Squirrel is a student rock and funk band organized through the Asheville Music School in Asheville, North Carolina. The band consists of young local musicians participating in the school’s Sound Education Outreach program.

TESO ELLIS & FRIENDS
Teso Ellis is an Indie singer songwriter out of Asheville, North Carolina With a genre, bending sound nostalgic of 90s alternative rock and classic soul, driven by folky tones and Lofi hip-hop grooves. A vibe that is completely unique but somehow familiar. He released a renegade album called “the end” with a band called chilltonic and this album is nearly impossible to get your hands on, unless you come out to one of his shows and ask him for it personally! That’s the definition of independent art.

O•VAD•YA has been playing before extremely diverse audiences for over 15 years… From opening for Eric Burdon and the
Animals, to Piamenta (the “Israeli Jimi Hendrix”) and benefits, to clubs to live radio, from festivals to synagogues to intimate
coffeehouses. Their music has been featured on radio nationally and locally in both Chicago and Asheville (WXRT, WNUR, WBEZ,
WNUR, WLUP, WPVM and many more nationally), charting in CMJ & grabbing major (Polygram) label interest & indie label offers.
Press on O•VAD•YA includes Chicago Sun Times affiliates, Chicago Tribune, Illinois Entertainer, Yediot Ahoronot (Israel’s biggest
newspaper) and many other newspapers / periodicals. Some of the band’s (older) music is on iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music,
Amazon, Pandora, Deezer and more. Studio plans for new music is in the works.
