Tune in for a session with Andrew Bird, as he talks about his new album and latest inspirations. WNCW's Martin Anderson attended the 20th annual AmericanaFest in Nashville, and recorded interviews with him and other artists we love playing. We'll hear a couple of new recordings he laid down too, from Sound Stage Studios there.

"WNCW’s new music podcast features a number of Texans in this episode, ranging from all time WNCW favorites like Rodney Crowell to newcomers like Los Coast," said WNCW Program Director Joe Kendrick. "We get to one of our go-to western North Carolina outfits as well, with Seth Kauffman’s band Floating Action. Plus, we drop in on several women artists who are new to the scene, with songs from Sunny War, Esther Rose and Madison Cunningham.

This week, Host and Producer Kim Clark brings us Studio B sessions with two bands who have "tossed out the rule book" and are forging their own musical paths - the Resonant Rogues and Horse Feathers. "The Resonant Rogues weave together European, Middle Eastern, and American folk music on their new release Autumn of the World, said Clark.

On the latest episode of Down The Road on The Blue Ridge Mountain Music Trails of North Carolina, Host Laura Boosinger spotlights the multitalented musician Lillian Chase. She's a 6th generation North Carolinian, an award winning fiddle phenom who is 15-years-old and has already won the following awards:

One of Asheville's best bands has a few more gigs in our area! Town Mountain is Phil Barker on mandolin, Robert Greer on guitar, Jesse Langlais on banjo, Bobby Britt on fiddle, and Zach Smith on bass. They'll be in Charlotte at The Visulite Theater on July 25, at Charleston Pour House on July 26, and at The Orange Peel on July 27.
