Come out and say hello to us! Enjoy the beautiful weather, listen to great music and eat super good food! Come to Downtown Greenville, South Carolina and see for yourself why Travel and Leisure Magazine named it one of the best festivals in the southeast.

Olivia Chaney's Studio B performance of “Arches” this past July is now one of the tracks on our brand new Crowd Around The Mic Vol. 22. We'll listen to the entire Olivia Chaney session and catch up with our old friend Malcolm Holcombe, who was in Studio B about a month ago to play songs from his new album Come Hell or High Water.

We officially have our new Crowd Around The Mic Volume 22 in our hands... you can have it in your hands too by making a pledge today! It's an amazing compilation of many of our Studio B performances from artists that dropped by WNCW in 2018. We hope you like it - we do! If you click on the slideshow in this post you can see all the artists that are featured in this incredible collection.

Tune to 88.7fm or stream us at wncw.org and check out Seth Kaufmann's band Floating Action. We'll be broadcasting the "Wicked Wednesday" session recorded at the Wicked Weed Funkatorium  last Thursday in Asheville, NC. Program Director Joe Kendrick will talk with Kaufmann, between songs, about the band's new release "Heartache Essentials." It's Floating Action on WNCW, Wednesday, October 10th at 4pm during the Music Mix with Roland Dierauf.

We'll revisit a couple of recent sessions by bands that have brand new albums:

The bluegrass super group Songs From The Road Band will be playing tunes from their latest Road To Nowhere and our friends from Knoxville, TN, the Black Lillies, will be showcasing their evolution into a full-blown rock band when they play songs from their new album Stranger To Me. Sunday with Kim Clark at 7pm.

Soul/rock/dance band The Fritz settled in Asheville in 2011, after forming in college in Florida. They have a new EP out Friday, and a show in Asheville Saturday night the 13th, and we're glad to have them serve up a funky, soulful lunch in Studio B  on Wednesday. Check out this new video of theirs here.

Singer/songwriter Vanessa Peters seems to be really hitting her stride with a new album called Foxhole Prayers. "I'm a literature geek at heart and for years I've wanted to do an album somehow influenced by The Great Gatsby, but the idea seemed much to nerdy and abstract. But after I re-read it last year, it dawned on me that we were literally reliving the Gatsby years."  She plays Wednesday in Charlotte, and Thursday in Knoxville (and Italy a week later!)

Tune in as Seth Kaufmann's band brings us a live "Wicked Wednesday" with this session from the Wicked Weed Funkatorium in Asheville. Joe Kendrick will talk with Seth from the stage, between songs, about the new release "Heartache Essentials." Floating Action plays a full set later in the evening.
