Disclaimer Comedy has been producing comedy shows in Asheville for over a decade. Bringing in the likes of Rory Scovel, Hannibal Burress, Tom Segura, and more. But, The Disclaimer's Pride and Joy has always been "The Disclaimer Stand Up Lounge Comedy Open-Mic". A sign up, go up open mic. With a wild roster of Asheville comics, Traveling comics, FIRST TIMERS, comics on Netflix, Comedy Central, Dry Bar, Don't tell, to comics who have probably been on COPS a few times. It's a real grab bag variety show, and home to a lot of talented creators in the southeast.

Be among the first to explore this diverse collection of botanical art as we officially kick off our 20th Anniversary celebration of Art in Bloom. This evening offers a unique chance to mingle with featured regional artists, hear the stories behind their work, and enjoy light refreshments in the company of fellow nature lovers. From intricate sculptures to bold photography, come discover how the natural world inspires our local creative community. Help us toast to two decades of art and nature in Black Mountain—we can’t wait to celebrate this milestone with you!

Join us at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts on Friday, May 1st, for a soulful evening with the Walker Family Band. Known for their "unbuttoned" blend of Old-Time, Irish, and Jazz traditions, this family ensemble brings a unique, high-energy sound to the BMCA stage.

From Jennie Brunner’s compelling fiddle work and Landon Walker’s transition from the Florida jazz scene to the Irish accordion, to the heart-warming addition of third-generation rising star Claire Brunner, this performance is a true celebration of musical legacy. Drawing from their Suzuki-method roots and decades of collaborative spirit, the Walkers offer a joyful night of original compositions and traditional favorites. Experience the " string wizardry" and family warmth that makes this band a local favorite.

Every first and third Saturday monthly from April through November, 11am to 5pm, we will be hosting our eclectic market featuring local goods and services, as well as, musicians and demos. This is a block party of sorts! Some items are, but not limited to, are handmade items, soaps, teas and coffees, vintage clothing, records and vintage media, jewelry, illustrations and graphic arts, toys, books, odds and ends, rare finds, oddities, and much more!
