Thursday 10/21 @ 8pm: Sturgill Simpson – The Ballad of Dood & Juanita
Thursday 10/21: Natalie Hemby – Pins & Needles
Wednesday 10/20: Asleep at the Wheel – Half a Hundred Years
Broken Hearts & Dirty Windows: Songs of John Prine Volume 2
The 2nd tribute to Prine on his Oh Boy record label, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Tyler Childers, Emmylou Harris, Nathaniel Rateliff, Jason Isbell, & others each cover one of his classics, and donate proceeds to a different nonprofit of their choice, from animal shelters to musician advocacy funds to UNICEF Covid-19 relief.
James McMurtry – The Horses and the Hounds
Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit – Georgia Blue
Following last year’s election, Isbell fulfilled a long-time wish of covering some of his favorite songs out of Georgia, with friends like Brandi Carlile, John Paul White, and a new singer on the scene named Brittney Spencer. All proceeds will benefit the following Georgia nonprofits: Black Voters Matter, Georgia Stand-Up, and Fair Fight.
Thursday 11/4 @ 8pm: Charley Crockett – Music City USA
It’s his tenth album in his six-year career, and the second one in 2021. The 16 tracks on this one provide even more proof that Charley is not only on a roll but one of our favorite new (yet vintage-sounding) voices in Country music. Is he trying to single-handedly save the genre? Will he succeed?
Wednesday 11/10: Zoe & Cloyd – Rebuild
John Cloyd Miller and Natalya Zoe Weinstein, who call Fairview, NC home, have been releasing individual songs from this great collection over the past many months, and played some of them live for us in Studio B last April. We’re happy to announce the full album is now available! They address the challenging year in which it was created in the liner notes: “Our world was turned upside down and it made us reflect on our lives, our priorities, and our art more than ever. We are all faced with rebuilding ourselves, our relationships, our careers, and our collective society.”
Thursday 11/18 @ 8pm: Billy Strings – Renewal
It’s been a pretty good year for Billy: he recently won Entertainer of the Year and Guitarist of the Year at the IBMA Awards! Once again, he honors the history of the music that inspires him, while continually pushing it forward. With this record’s sixteen tracks, Strings shares a more personal and honest perspective through his songwriting, while incorporating his wide range of influences with elements of bluegrass, classic rock, metal, psychedelic music, and more. Billy also likes to honor his roots in more philanthropic ways too: he made headlines this month for returning to his Michigan elementary school to donate 200 acoustic guitars to the students there.
Tuesday 11/16: Willie Nelson Family
It’s an all gospel album from Willie, with his kids Lukas, Micah, Paula, and Amy, and sister Bobbie on piano. Six of the twelve songs were written by Willie, plus they cover George Harrison, Hank Williams, A.P. Carter, Kris Kristofferson.
