The Bluegrass at the Rock series returns for the 2026–2027 season, perfect for a day trip or weekend getaway to this charming foothills town. Before the show, enjoy Valdese’s vibrant dining scene, from Italian-inspired dishes honoring the town’s Waldensian roots to Southern comfort food, handcrafted pizzas, sweet treats, and locally roasted coffee. Explore the outdoors at scenic McGalliard Falls or relax at the 300-acre Valdese Lakeside Park, ideal for paddling, picnicking, fishing, or walking trails. Discover the town’s rich Waldensian heritage through museums, festivals, and community celebrations. All shows are at 7:30pm and doors will open at 6:30pm. The Old Rock School Box Office is open Monday - Friday from 8am -5pm (closed for lunch 12 - 1pm daily). The Greenville Jazz Collective (GJC) preserves and promotes jazz in Upstate South Carolina. GJC stewards this important American art form through the promotion of live performance to support our local musicians, as well as educational events and programs to nurture the next generation of jazz musicians.
The Jazz Showcase is curated by esteemed pianist, scholar, and UNC Asheville music professor Dr. Bill Bares; this showcase series is dedicated to bringing the region’s finest jazz musicians and most compelling sounds to our stage in a true listening room experience.
