Caverns Of Gold Showcase Benefitfeaturing Pink Eye, Lower Peaks, Why Why?, John Kirby Jr & the New SeniorsFriday, January 09Show: 8 pm | Doors: 7 pmThe Orange PeelAll Ages - under 12 requires venue approvalCaverns of Gold began as a Bandcamp-exclusive compilation, bringing together nearly 280 bands from across the world who donated their music in support of WNC Hurricane Relief. What started as a one-time idea became proof of something bigger—that when music communities come together, even the deepest caverns of darkness can be illuminated with the golden light of solidarity and hope. You can still find the compilation, Caverns of Gold: A Benefit for WNC Hurricane Relief, exclusively on Bandcamp at cavernsofgold.bandcamp.com.
Now, the spirit of that project takes the stage. On January 9, 2026, Caverns of Gold comes to The Orange Peel with a showcase featuring members of the core group of organizers who helped bring the original compilation to life. The night will feature electrifying sets from four of Asheville’s most dynamic acts: PINKEYE, Lower Peaks, Why Why?, and John Kirby Jr & the New Seniors. Each band brings its own energy and vision, from fierce punk urgency to indie experimentation and heartfelt songwriting.
This show also carries forward Caverns of Gold’s commitment to community care. In partnership with ABCCM (Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry), the event will host a warm clothing drive to support neighbors in need this winter. Audience members are encouraged to bring coats, jackets, hats, gloves, and other essentials to help ABCCM’s vital outreach work across Western North Carolina.
