The Cherry Bounce Festival pays homage to Rutherford County's Amos Owens and his famous Cherry Bounce Moonshine! The festival kicks off on Friday, June 7 with a free concert featuring the award winning bluegrass band, Po' Ramblin' Boys! Doors open at 6:30PM, concert begins at 7:00PM. Festival continues on Saturday with moonshine and whiskey tastings, hand crafted art items, food trucks, and live music featuring Wiregrass, The Wilder Flower, Reedy River String Band, and Songs From The Road Band. Festival ends with the Forest City Owls baseball game at McNair Field.

North Carolina’s Largest Fly Fishing Festival. Featuring fly fishing & outdoor vendors, fly tiers, casting contest, kids korner and food vendors. Event is Father’s Day weekend June 2024. Josh Miller of Trout Yeah & The Team USA Fly Fishing Coach will be on hand doing Euro Clinics. Come celebrate fly fishing & the outdoors this summer at the Maggie Valley Fly Fishing & Outdoor Festival. Admission is $10.00 per day and kids 12 & under are free.

Toe Down Music & Arts Festival is a weekend long campout held on the magical Toe River in Green Mountain NC.
This years gathering includes music from Organ Fairchild, Electro Lust, Red Clay Revival, Marvelous Funkshun, DaShawn Hickman, Supatight, LadyCouch, Late Shifters, The Freeway Jubilee and many more.
Also included with admission: beautiful people, thousands of fireflies, a full moon, the Summer Solstice, a half mile of Toe River frontage, local food vendors and amazing mountain views.

Every first and third Saturday monthly from April through November, 11am to 5pm, we will be hosting our eclectic market featuring local goods and services, as well as, musicians and demos. This is a block party of sorts! Some items are, but not limited to, are handmade items, soaps, teas and coffees, vintage clothing, records and vintage media, jewelry, illustrations and graphic arts, toys, books, odds and ends, rare finds, oddities, and much more!

Join us for a celebration of wooden crafts – one of the first media of handicraft. From branches, trunks, roots, and bark, watch as they’re used in both functional and decorative pieces. During Wood Day, members of the Southern Highland Craft Guild will showcase this evolution of skills and mastery of crafted wood by demonstrating and sharing their working processes with visitors at the Folk Art Center. Demonstrations include carving, woodturning, furniture making, and more.

This free celebration of mountain heritage features traditional crafts accompanied by music and dancing. On-going demonstrations will include traditional woodworking with traditional tools, weaving, spinning, dyeing, broom making, stone carving, and printmaking. Visitors will have the opportunity to try their own hand at some of the crafts and an activity table will encourage young people to create objects. A music stage will provide further entertainment with bluegrass and gospel music. There is free parking and a grassy area for picnics and relaxation. Spend an early autumn day in WNC honoring and learning about the crafts of yesteryear.
