Pat Jobe, along with Kim Taylor, joined WNCW days after the station signed on. Radio Free Bubba lasted for 17 years with Meg Barnhouse joining four years into the station's history. Gary Phillips and other guests were often heard on the feature. A number of books and CD's chronicled the life of the feature with The Best of Radio Free Bubba being among the top sellers for the Hub City Writers Project in Spartanburg. The current incarnation is one minute of storytelling reflecting the generous philosophies of Mark Hauser and Jobe. The feature is sometimes funny, sometimes tender to the heart in the no-holds-barred tradition of public radio commentary.
