Pandemic got you down? Got Cabin Fever? Missing live music?  Of course you are, and your friends at WNCW think we have the cure! We're calling it the WNCW Summer Outback Opry - As in, out back in the parking lot of The Foundation at Isothermal Community College in Spindale, NC, home of WNCW.

Your favorite listener powered, grassroots radio station is proud to present International Bluegrass Music Association Award winners Darin and Brooke Aldridge, with special guest The Luke Edwards Trio for a drive-in concert in the back parking lot of the Foundation Performing Arts Center on Saturday July 25th.  Showtime is 8:00 p.m.  This will be a true concert production, with a stage and professional sound and lighting. You're not dreaming... it's really gonna happen!

"We think it’s a safe way to enjoy some great live music while abiding by current social distancing guidelines," said WNCW Director of Radio Operations Dave Kester. "We’ll space vehicles appropriately, giving folks the opportunity to roll down the windows and enjoy the show from the comfort of their vehicle, or set a lawn chair out in designated areas in front of your car. No tents, pop up shelters, umbrellas, or covered chairs will be allowed.  In the event of rain, we’ll broadcast the show via a low power FM transmitter and you can watch while listening on your car radio. No food vendors will be present, so bring snacks and a cooler, or support local businesses by hitting an area restaurant or drive thru on the way to the show!  Port-A-Johns and hand washing stations will be provided.  Pickups and oversized vehicles will be parked in the rear of the lot.  We want everyone to feel safe and comfortable, and to enjoy the show, so please be aware of those around you and maintain proper social distancing.  In compliance with CDC guidelines and the NC Governor’s orders, masks will be required when away from your vehicle."

"WNCW staffers know that all of you are missing live music as much as we are, so we felt like it was time to think outside the box and find a way to get us back to the live music experience," added Kester.  "With that said, we want to do it in a manner that’s safe and respectful to everyone in our community. We invite you to gather your family and friends and come join us for a slightly different, yet fantastic, live music experience under the stars at the home of WNCW!"
