Red Legged Frog Productions presentsA Hawaiian Christmas with CarolinAloha featuring Billy CardineMon, Dec 1 2025 • 7:30 pmJoin Us in the intimate 78 seat Tina McGuire theater for an Hawaiian Christmas!
CarolinAloha is the fusion of three deep passions: the mountains, the ocean, and music. Created by master slide guitarist Billy Cardine, the project draws rich inspiration from the timeless beauty of Hawaiian music.
Cardine has been recognized as a slide guitar pioneer, taking the dobro into unchartered musical genres. His distinct voice on all things slide has led him to collaborations with Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones, world-renowned bassist Edgar Meyer in Porous Borders of Music and alongside Jerry Douglas on Southern Filibuster. His unique slide work spans a wide spectrum of genres—from gypsy jazz to bluegrass—and has taken him across North America, Europe, and Asia. He has played legendary stages including Carnegie Hall, The Ryman Auditorium, The Grand Ole Opry, MerleFest, Bonnaroo, and RockyGrass, among many others.
CarolinAloha has been featured at esteemed venues and festivals such as the Waikiki Steel Guitar Festival (Oʻahu), the Kona Steel Guitar Festival (Kona), and The Station Inn in Nashville, TN.
With a rotating cast of exceptional, expressive, and joyful musicians, CarolinAloha brings the warmth and soul of Hawaiian-inspired music to the mountains of North Carolina—and far beyond. He will be joined by the UNC Asheville Director of Jazz Studies, Dr. William Bares on piano, Mary Lucey on bass and vocals and Landon Lush on ukelele.
Cocktail table seating upfront is available as well a bar for refreshments located in the theater.

A lot of people ask us what genre we are. The truth is, we don’t know. Check out some of our music and let us know what you think. In reality, if you really want to get to know about TopHouse, y’all should shoot us a message and say hi, come to a show, or listen to some music! Why not all three?
“Fast-paced, high-energy foot stompers. Ballads that’ll make you cry. It’s kind of like a rock band married old-fashioned bluegrass and had a little baby. And named it TopHouse.”

With one of Soul Music's all-time great group names, the Chairmen of the Board has pleased music lovers for over 30 years. Formed in Detroit, the Chairmen were one of the first acts signed by songwriting legends Holland/Dozier/Holland for their Invictus label following H/D/H's messy divorce from Motown. The group came out of the box strong in 1970 with the wonderful "Give Me Just A Little More Time," a classic early 70's radio smash highlighted by lead singer General Johnson's emotive, plaintive vocals. "Give Me" was the foundation of the group's excellent debut album, which also featured the infectious "(You've Got Me) Dangling on a String."
Over the years, the Chairmen of the Board were among Soul Music's most consistent hitmakers, scoring big with "Pay to the Piper," "Finders Keepers," "Chairman of the Board," and the blissful "Everything's Tuesday."
Group leader General Johnson died on October 13, 2010 at age 67. At the request of General Johnson to keep the group's legacy strong, 38 year member Ken Knox continues to lead the group touring with members Thomas Hunter and Patrick McGuire and 6 musicians.
