Greetings from WNCW in Spindale, North Carolina! Oh my goodness... we are missing all the festivals so very much. We know you are too. MerleFest Reps are getting ready to re-live the 2012 MerleFest event online. WNCW is doing it in an abbreviated version. Our Sound Engineer, Sean Rubin, has been creating select sessions which we will air this week.
"In the absence of a MerleFest this year, the festival is going to stream video of the 2012 Merlefest performances, from the Watson and Cabin stages, on its YouTube page next Thursday through Sunday," said WNCW Director of Radio Operations Dave Kester. "It is the 25th festival and the last one that Doc Watson played, before he passed away a few weeks later. In an effort to help MerleFest out and give the fans a little something to enjoy, we will be broadcasting select recordings of some of the various sets from Thursday, and Friday of the 2012 Merlefest, on Thursday and Friday, April 23, and 24, on WNCW. "
It's gonna be sweet to hear/see Doc Watson on stage again and to feel the wonderfulness of MerleFest in the spring, in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Click here for more info MerleFest
