Join us to celebrate the birthdays of our resident animals with games, contests, crafts and surprises. The park’s wildlife habitat staff hosts a fun-filled afternoon for guests, as well as programs to celebrate the park’s furry and feathered inhabitants. Millie the Bear, the mountain’s mascot, will make special appearances throughout the day. Join for one activity or all. Included with admission.

Teens are invited to join us on Jurassic Island (aka Rutherford County Library) on Wednesday, June 10th at 4:00pm to infiltrate their research facility and secure the velociraptor eggs before time runs out.

Kids are invited to join Jerry Stensland from the Rutherford Outdoor Coalition at Haynes Branch on Friday, June 12th at 10:30am to explore the outdoors and learn about our outdoor neighbors! After a learning about birds with Jerry, we will go on a birdwatching and listening expedition right outside the library (weather permitting)!

Parents, you can download the Merlin Bird ID app to help your child identify birds during the program (not required)!

An Appalachian Musical Retelling

This haunting reimagining of the classic Grimm tale, now set in 1940 Appalachia, features a soulful, live score of banjo, guitar, and spoons.The story follows a family navigating the hardships of the Great Depression through bravery, trust, loss, and love. It is a timeless journey that is authentic, heart-wrenching, and hopeful—mountain theatre for folks of all ages.

What is a BioBlitz?
A BioBlitz is part social event, part scientific expedition. Armed with the iNaturalist app and guided by experts, we’ll head into the field to document the rare and rugged ecosystems near Gerton, NC.

Explore: Navigate diverse terrains with expert naturalists.
Learn: Discover how to identify local flora and fauna.
Contribute: Every observation you upload becomes part of a global database used by scientists to track environmental health.

Important Reminders:
There will be a variety of hike options for this event ranging from easy to strenuous. Please leave pets at home. Kids are welcome to attend as long as accompanied by a parent/guardian for the duration of the event.

Parking is limited at the venue so carpooling is encouraged.

Teens are invited to come design their own candles at Haynes Branch on Saturday, June 13th at 11:00am! They will get to make several translucent candles with different decorations inside of them.

About Us....
All year access to fresh local foods and community. The Greer Farmers Market has been an integral part of Downtown Greer since 2015. Our market serves a diverse shopper base consisting of young families, professionals, and seniors. The Greer Farmers Market is a non-profit 501c3 farmers market in the State of South Carolina. Our mission is to support local farmers, bakers, and hand-made businesses by providing an accessible platform to sell in-season items directly to Greer’s residents and visitors.

Join us for a beautiful Sunday afternoon concert by the French Broad River featuring Irish singer-songwriter Pat Byrne with indie-folk band 5J Barrow! BYOB, BYOC (chair), Kids are free!

An Irish singer-songwriter, Pat Byrne has come a long way since his first deal with Universal. In late 2017, Byrne began his migration to Austin, Texas. In 2019, Pat took the US by storm, with breakout performances at the 30A Festival, SXSW, Kerrville Folk Festival and the Americana Festival. Being immersed in the Texas music scene, Pat's sophomore US release, Into the Light, has an edgier feel underscoring both emotional depth and greater confidence, while blending new influences with his rich Irish heritage.

5j Barrow is a soulful indie band founded in 2011 by Broadway performers Eryn Murman and Jason Hite, whose heartfelt lyrics and evocative sound have captivated audiences from the Apollo Theater to Washington Square Park. Named “Best Band in NY” after winning WNYC/WQXR’s 2014 Battle of the Boroughs, they’ve built a devoted following and recently completed a year-long North American tour. Their releases include the debut album From the Dim Sweet Light and the three-part EP series The Journey (2017–2019). Now based in Asheville, NC, they continue to create and perform across the country.
