Join our intercultural summer day camps where children 6-12 years old explore music creation, international dance, music instrument building, and other forms of art in a joyful and supportive environment. Each child receives personal attention and a meaningful creative experience.
**Show up at Ignite Jewelry Studios anytime between 11pm and 3pm to make your charms!
This is the perfect way to spend a part of your day while visiting our downtown Asheville metalsmithing studio and gallery. Come stamp and hammer a charm to your liking! Choose from more than 60 styles of metal stamps and a variety of jewelers hammers to complete your charm. You will start with a rectangular brass base, (or upgrade to sterling silver in a variety of shapes and styles) then choose your silver accent piece, and finally a gemstone of choice. After a quick demo by the instructor you can spend the next 45 minutes to complete your masterpiece.
Our magnetic tumbler will polish your piece to perfection and you have an option of some finishing patinas as well. Upgrade to earrings, make additional pendants for friends etc.
$45 Base Price includes a brass charm, gemstone drop, jump ring, and base metal chain. (Some silver upgrades available for additional cost and additional pieces may be purchased to make gifts, extras, etc!)
This is family friendly, kid friendly ages 6 and up (but the littles will need help with the hammering), and a great rainy day or indoor activity in downtown Asheville!

The WNC Sculpture Center’s Third Saturday Family Workshop series invites families to gather once a month for hands-on, creative experiences that blend art-making, learning, and quality time together. Held every third Saturday, each workshop features a different accessible, family-friendly project—ranging from sculpture and printmaking to mixed‑media creations—designed to encourage collaboration across generations. Led by knowledgeable staff and artists, the workshops often include opportunities to explore the sculpture park, helping participants connect creativity with place. The series emphasizes creativity, shared experiences, and making meaningful keepsakes, making it a welcoming entry point for families to engage with the arts together.

So you want to set odd shaped cabochons? I’ve got you! In this class you will learn to hand fabricate a custom sterling silver bezel setting for stones with varied shapes and heights. Through this experience you will use skills such as sawing, filing, soldering, bezel setting, finishing, and various polishing or surface texture options.
Experience is great, but not necessary.
This is a skills based workshop, but you will leave with a finished pendant.
I will have rose cut stone options available the day of class, but if you have an irregular or interestingly shaped cabochon you are hoping to set, please bring it. Just keep in mind that it needs to have a flat back (or close to flat) and if it is too large or too tall for the materials we have, we may be limited; in that case I can give you guidance on what materials you would need to procure to set it on your own in the future.
Workshop Cost $200
Materials Fee $40-$60 depending on your choices of materials
