Wednesday 6/5: Joanne Shaw Taylor – Heavy Soul
Taylor is a chart-topping British blues-rock guitarist, who was first discovered at age 16 by Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics. She had great success with her previous three albums, and this one bridges those together in a fusion of contemporary soul-pop with traditional blues roots. It’s coming out on June 7th on Journeyman Records, known to fans of Joe Bonamassa.
Monday 4/6: Charley Crockett – Age of the Ram
The ever-prolific Charley Crockett has released this 20-song finale to his trilogy of albums, following Lonesome Drifter and Dollar A Day, each of which were released last year (and ranked #5 and #10, respectively, in WNCW Listeners’ Top 100 of 2025.) “The Sagebrush Trilogy has always been about a man trying to find his name in this world. Lonesome Drifter was the wanderer—boots full of highway dust, chasing a song and a dollar. Dollar A Day was the rustler. A man learning what hunger will make you do. Now the Age of the Ram tells the story of the outlaw. The kind that don’t set out to be a legend, but winds up one anyway.”
Wednesday 6/28: Tracy Nelson – Life Don’t Miss Nobody
She’s been on nearly 200 albums, ever since her 1965 debut and four subsequent albums with the band Mother Earth. Having been absent from the studio for roughly a decade, however, she’s back with this mix of blues-flavored Americana. She has guests on here, too: “Top of my bucket list was singing with Willie (Nelson) again. No, it was singing with Charlie (Musselwhite) on harp. No, it was singing with Marcia (Ball) and Irma (Thomas) again. Top of my bucket list was all of the above.”
The top House Republican won't comply with Jan. 6 panel request to voluntarily testify
