Tuesday 6/27: Pressing Strings -- …And I For You
The Annapolis, Maryland trio of Jordan Sokel, Nick Welker, Justin Kruger, and a good half-dozen genres at least, have a new album coming out July 14th on Evil Teen Records. They’re performing in Johnson City, TN on July 15th, and Charlotte on July 20th.
Top House Republican Opposes Bipartisan Commission To Investigate Capitol Riot

Monday 6/12: Dallas Burrow -- Blood Brothers
New Braunfels, Texas native Dallas Burrow has a lot of great stories, particularly about music legends like Townes Van Zandt. One of his favorite stories to tell is about a night in Nashville in the early 70s, when Burrow’s father, Mike Burrow, was hosting Richard Dobson, John Lomax III, and Van Zandt at a pub he ran with his siblings on Elliston Place near the old Exit/In. After a late night shutting down the bar, the foursome hit an after party, where Van Zandt insisted they all become blood brothers to ensure they’d be forever cosmically linked. Everyone agreed, and perhaps through some mystical, intangible power that often propels so much music, Van Zandt’s style has been transfused into Burrow more than any other artist. And now that you know a bit of this story, you know a lot about the feel of these great new songs from Dallas – all but one of which were written by him (including co-writes with Charley Crockett and Jonathan Tyler). This one, like all of this week’s New Tunes at 2 albums, will be released on June 16th.
Tuesday 1/6: Tyler Ramsey & Carl Broemel – Celestun
Having been friends and occasional touring partners for well over a decade, Asheville-based singer-songwriter-guitarist Tyler Ramsey and My Morning Jacket guitarist Carl Broemel have now made their full-length recorded debut with Celestun (out Jan. 15th). It is predominantly filled with lush, mostly acoustic instrumentals, although they each sing a song or two here as well.

Monday 6/24: The Decemberists – As It Ever Was, So It Will Be Again
It’s the first album of new material in six years for Colin Meloy and his band of fellow Oregonians. To quote Stereogum, it “feels like a career summary of everything the Decemberists are and have been, juxtaposing stripped-down folk and buoyant pop songs against lengthy monoliths on a 68-minute double album that ends with a 20-minute retelling of the legend of Joan of Arc.”
