This week’s lineup of featured new music releases includes titles by Andy Bassford, Dangermuffin, Robert Ellis, Mandolin Orange, Nick Waterhouse, and others. See our New Releases page for a complete list of featured albums and also see some of our favorite tracks off the new releases.
Andy Bassford’s “The Harder They Strum” is a remake of the soundtrack to the movie “The Harder They Come”. Jamaican music has played an instrumental role in influencing Bassford since early on in his music career. He chose to create this solo album with that music style and the Jamaican audience in mind.
Dangermuffin’s album “FTC StageOne” includes 14 tracks of the band’s live performance at the Fairfield, CT venue on April 6, 2018. FTC StageOne is one of Dangermuffin’s favorite venues to play, and this recorded live performance captures the band on an “epic” night.
Mandolin Orange’s newest album “Tides of a Teardrop” is set to be released on February 1. The album continues in the duo’s intimate style of music. Andrew Marlin wrote the songs and during revisions discovered how hints of loss has typically permeated the band’s music, but this album is straightforward in processing the loss of Marlin’s mother, who died when he was 18.
There is a world of new music to be discovered and you will hear it on the radio dial at 88.7FM or stream our radio station online.
