More Voter Map Redistricting For North Carolina: Is It Fair?

Ann Webb, policy director for Common Cause North Carolina, a government watchdog group, backed by voting rights advocates, addressed reporters in front of the North Carolina General Assembly in Raleigh on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023. The GOP-dominated legislature gave final approval to new congressional and state legislative district maps.

Lawmakers in North Carolina recently approved redistricting maps that increase the number of Republicans in Congress. Voting and Election Integrity Reporter for WUNC, Rusty Jacobs went over this matter, which includes state Republicans having super majorities and lawsuits against the redrawn districts by those opposed.
