Zoe and Cloyd Valentine's Concert - 2/14
Celebrate Valentine's Day with a night of unforgettable "Klezgrass" music as the acclaimed duo Zoe & Cloyd returns for their highly anticipated annual Valentine's Concert at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts (BMCA) on Saturday, February 14th, at 7:30 PM. This concert has become a beloved tradition at BMCA, offering a heartwarming and vibrant musical experience that fuses the soulful depth of American roots music with the joy of Old World melodies. Audiences should prepare to experience soaring harmonies and a unique sound that makes this performance the perfect centerpiece for a romantic evening. “Zoe & Cloyd are wonderful supporters of our arts center,” states Executive Director Lori Cozzi. “They never fail to bring some of the most beautiful music in western North Carolina to our audience members.”
Zoe & Cloyd is the creative and romantic partnership of fiddler/vocalist Natalya Zoe Weinstein and multi-instrumentalist/vocalist John Cloyd Miller. Their music is a fascinating collaboration that proves opposites attract: Natalya, classically trained in Massachusetts, draws on a deep family history in klezmer and jazz, while John is a 12th-generation North Carolinian whose grandfather, Jim Shumate, was a pioneering bluegrass fiddler in Bill Monroe’s Blue Grass Boys. The resulting blend seamlessly incorporates original bluegrass, klezmer, old-time, and folk, honoring their respective traditions while forging a distinctly modern sound.
