Join us at our Wednesday August 6th WNC Sierra Club meeting for a discussion about how to identify and remove invasive plants, and how to replace them with native ones.

Invasive plants in the landscape often leave gardeners confused and overwhelmed. Some invasives are smothering our trees and threatening to take over the world, and some are still for sale in garden centers.

Bob Gale, retired ecologist & Public Lands Director for Mountain True, will discuss the ecological problems presented by these non-native invasive plants and provide strategies and methods for dealing with them in backyards, gardens, and larger acreages. He will also provide resources for selecting native tree, shrub, and groundcover alternatives.
