The Sound of Music

Spartanburg Little Theatre will kick off their 2023-24 season with Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music. Performances are September 8, 9, 15, 16, 22 and 23 at 7:30 pm, and September 10, 16, 17, 23 and 24 at 2:30 pm at the Chapman Cultural Center in Downtown Spartanburg.

The hills are alive with this musical theatre classic for the whole family! Based on the inspirational memoir of Maria Von Trapp, The Sound of Music tells the heartwarming story of an exuberant young governess who brings music and joy back to a broken family, only to face danger and intrigue as the Nazis gain power. Featuring some of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s most beloved songs, including “Edelweiss”, “My Favorite Things” and “Climb Ev’ry Mountain”, this enchanting and timeless musical is sure to delight audiences of all ages.

Tickets for The Sound of Music can be purchased by calling the Chapman Cultural Center ticket office at (864) 542-2787 or by ordering online at www.spartanburglittletheatre.com. Tickets are $30 for adults, $27 for seniors and $20 for students. A group discount of 10% is available for parties of 10 or more.
