The Greenville Jazz Collective Jazz Underground series hosts The Tish Oney quartet performing songs of the four seasons drawing from the Great American Songbook, modern jazz composers, and other great tunes.

From time immemorial until today, songs reflecting the seasons have been part of our musical culture. Vivaldi is perhaps the first to reflect all four seasons together in a single musical offering. Tish will update this tradition with a singular program of music reflecting all four seasons, from a variety of great composers and lyricists, played by some of the best local jazz professionals in town.

Dr. Oney is not only a singer with serious jazz credentials, she is also a composer, arranger, author, and educator! And she has assembled a band including Joe Davidian on keys, Bob Songster on bass, and Justin Watt on drums that is equally conversant in the musical traditions in this program of music.

Some of the composers to be featured in the program range from Van Heusen, Lerner & Loewe, and Harry Warren (from the Great American Songbook) to jazz musicians like Freddie Hubbard and Abbey Lincoln. So the music will be top shelf!

They’ll be performing in our venue, the Coffee Underground Theater, which is an intimate listening room which also serves homemade desserts, delicious coffee from beans roasted on premises, and an assortment of teas, wine, and cocktails
