Jamie Laval, the popular WNC-based performer of Celtic music, will appear in a live local performance at Tryon Fine Arts Center on March 26. Joining Jamie is vocalist Amber Rose, whose soaring, angelic voice evokes a fairytale-like quality in ancient airs and ballads. Rachel Clemente rounds out the trio with her Celtic harp, adding an exciting rhythmic vitality and subtle harmonic nuance to the musical settings. Their approach is to reimagine songs and rustic peasant dances from the ancient Celtic world. While Jamie burns down the barn with foot-stomping Scottish fiddle tunes, Amber evokes a fairytale-like quality singing Gaelic love songs.
