Haywood Community College will host local author Kerry Garvin at a book signing event Saturday, August 7 at 10 a.m. in the College Library. What Doesn’t Kill Her was co-edited by Garvin and Elisabeth Sharp McKetta. It is a compilation of 60 stories of women of resilience and was published in June 2021. “For someone who doesn’t read anthologies or creative nonfiction, I still think this book has a wide sense of appeal because women make up 50% of the population,” says Garvin. “Everyone has a woman in their life… while each of these stories is really unique to each woman, there are also universal themes throughout the book.” This event is open to the public and refreshments will be available.
