🎶 Alexander Chapel United Methodist Church Invites the Community to a No-Sermon Homecoming Celebration Filled with Music, Memories, and Fellowship 🎶
Asheville, NC – Alexander Chapel United Methodist Church is thrilled to welcome the community to its annual Homecoming Celebration on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. This joyful gathering promises a morning of heartfelt music and warm fellowship—and no sermon! It’s a day to sing, smile, and reconnect.
Worship will feature a Hymn Sing led by beloved regional artist Susan Pepper, a singer and songwriter known for her stirring interpretations of Appalachian and sacred music. Susan’s music beautifully blends tradition and spirit, creating a worship experience that speaks to the soul.
Following the Hymn Sing, everyone is invited to stay for a community potluck lunch from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. If you're able, please bring a covered dish to share—or just bring yourself! All are welcome at the table.
Alexander Chapel UMC was founded in 1856, and for nearly 170 years, this small but faithful congregation has served the Asheville and Weaverville communities with a spirit of welcome, grace, and neighborly love. Located at 880 Aiken Road in North Asheville, the church remains a gathering place for worship, song, and shared commitment to God and one another.
