Dig! Host Kim Clark says we'll listen to a top-tier Monkees tune that has an interesting story behind the song. "It was shelved in '66 due to in-studio tensions between songwriter Carole King and session producer Mike Nesmith," said Clark. "It finally surfaced on the '87 "Missing Links" album. We'll also feature Solomon Burke with the first, and most smokin' cover of Dylan's "Maggie's Farm," added Clark. On this week's show, our record collector-in-chief digs up a few album cuts by the Kinks, the Lovin' Spoonful, the Status Quo, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band and Traffic.
