Monday Night Feb. 16th at 8pm: DR. JOHN - In the Right Place

One of our most fun days of programming has arrived, and we've got Mardi Gras music all day long for you throughout Fat Tuesday. We also know you might need to get into the mood the night before with all of your prep -- the gathering of the costume, the making of the roux, the baking of the king cake... That's why you'll be in the right place with WNCW beginning at 8pm Monday night with this classic from Mac Rebennack. Released in 1973, the Night Tripper had released five albums previously, but this is the one that gave him his well-deserved recognition, with the title track hitting high in the radio charts. Other highlights include "Peace Brother Peace", "Traveling Mood", and Allen Toussaint's "Life". And just like a gumbo ain't nothin' without a good roux, the magic behind this album is the session band, The Meters. It's Mardi Gras time, and the Doctor is in!
