WNCW's News Producer and Music Host Kevin Washington will kick off Black History Month this Friday, February 1st, at 10pm with a special Music Mix Program that will take us on a journey through the amazing history of African-American music. Washington will feature jazz, blues, gospel, R&B, funk, soul and the classic sounds of Motown, celebrating each genre and the contributions of black musicians that helped shape American music and culture. He'll play everything from James Brown to The Temptations, exploring the classic tunes and cultural impact these influential artists had on our lives... and in African-American music history.
