Friday Feature: Farm Beginnings, A One-Year Training Program Teaching Folks To Be Successful Farmers

Collage of farm animals and vegetables

The Organic Growers School of Western North Carolina is has a program called Farm Beginnings that helps people learn about the art of farming. Many skills are required to start and expand a successful farm business: passion, clear goals, production experience, financial and marketing know-how, and more. Farm Beginnings helps people build these skills through one year of farmer-led training, mentoring, and networking. Nicole Delcogliano, Farm Beginnings Coordinator, was a guest on this Friday Feature Interview of the Week from May 29, 2020.  She discussed the Organic Growers School story, how Farm Beginnings works, and how past graduates of the program are adapting during the Coronavirus Panedemic.
