Raul Malo and company are back with a terrific new collection out of steamy Miami. Not content to rest with just rockabilly, R&B, and the various Latino styles they mash together, they've got some reggae/ska grooves here too, perhaps replacing their Country/Western origins a bit. And it's an album they - yes - recorded in mono. As Holly Gleason has written in Paste Magazine: "The ability to transcend time, to merge Latin cultures seamlessly with American rock/pop/country standards, to offer the erogenous without salacious slather, the Mavericks have sought to create a new post-Nashville musical container. Never quite forsaking what brought them, they’ve created a new world for post-country country—as musically satisfying as it is hormone-peaking."
Thursday Night April 9th between 9pm and Midnight: THE MAVERICKS - Mono
