The Southern Highland Craft Guild invites visitors to experience daily craft demonstrations at the Folk Art Center
from March through December. Every day from 10am-4pm, two artists of differing media will explain and
demonstrate their craft with informative materials displayed at their booth. These free educational events are open to the public.

Beginner Clogging/Flatfoot

6-week SeriesThursdays, 11:00 am - Noon September 5-October 10, 2024

Learn the basic steps and how to transition between them. Start to improv with the basics. Learn a little about old-time music and the difference      between flatfoot and clogging. No experience necessary for this class, but if you’ve taken Beginner level before or are a quick learner, I will also show some more-advanced variations to keep you challenged. I tend to talk less and dance more, so come prepared to sweat.

Hive Jive, Open Mic, welcomes all ages and any instruments. We are the only sober cafe and bar in WNC. Children are allowed. Sign up begins at 5:15 PM. Play in sequence of the sign up. Minimum 10 minutes of play per musician.
Bring your young musical artist, your grandma who still loves playing and singing, and your self to play/practice in front of an audience! Join us for a good time for a sober social gathering.

Storytelling through song--John Prine, Hank Sr., old blues, classic country, originals, and duelettes.

Marquee and Asheville Music School have teamed up for a silent auction fundraiser to benefit Asheville Music School’s scholarship and outreach programs. Up for bidding will be luxury regional experiences, vacation getaways, wine tasting events, fine art, pampering packages, restaurant and wellness gift certificates, concert tickets and more. Tickets are only $10 to attend and include a complimentary drink ticket. There is also a cash bar serving wine, local beer, cocktails, and NA beverages. Plus, special showcase performances by AMS students.

The funds we're raising through this auction are going to help fund the Paul Thorpe Music Education Fund, which provides need-based scholarships for music lessons and instruments, as well as music-based community outreach.

ABOUT AMS
Asheville Music School is the largest nonprofit music school of its kind in Western North Carolina, serving over 400 students annually and providing sustainable and rewarding work for dozens of music educators. We offer private music lessons, band and ensemble classes, summer camps, master classes, and workshops for all ages and income levels. As a community school, our mission is to keep music education accessible to all, regardless of economic barriers. We accomplish our goals by offering need-based scholarships, an instrument-lending library, and by operating an outreach program that connects AMS students and teachers with the most vulnerable populations in our community.

Join us in this hands on class where you will make a hammered sterling silver wide band ring. One of Ignite's talented instructors will take you through the process step by step including soldering, shaping, hammering, and finishing your ring.
