Summer Reading Kick Off - June 12

Summer Reading Kick Off - June 12

Join the libraries of the Foothills Consortium in our annual Summer Reading Kick Off! Each library will have booths with activities for children as well as information about the 2023 summer reading program*. We will also enjoy a performance by The Soap Bubble Circus! For more information, please call the Rutherford County Library at 828.287.6115, or reach us online at www.rutherfordcountylibrary.org

*The summer reading program is a free event that happens throughout June and July to promote reading and learning for the children, teens, and adults of Rutherford County. The program is slightly different with each library system, but in general: children can take home reading logs and earn small prizes for hitting certain reading milestones. Several library systems offer grand prize drawings for participants who complete their logs. Several libraries also offer similar activities and/or incentives for adults. There are free events to attend at each library, though many require pre-registration. If you cannot attend the kick off party, please contact your local library for specific details about the summer reading program.
