Join us for the 2nd Annual Forks of the River Fly Fishing Festival!

A lineup of local vendors, your favorite fly fishing brands, rod demos, door prizes, kids fishing derby, a grand raffle prize package and a schedule of events can be expected!
New Belgium Brewing will be taking over Forks of the River Taproom, paired with “Here’s the deal" food truck.

This year, we will also be hosting an AFTER PARTY at Pilot Cove, with our good friends Dan's Tramp Stamp & The Money Bags from Charleston! A separate event tab on our Facebook page will include those details, as well as a link to purchase tickets. Ticket sales and donations from our festival will go to PCTU to aid the trout educational aquarium. More on that below.

Last year, our community, along with other close by communities, were hit by a record flood. This typically tore apart the Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education and State Fish Hatchery. With Pisgah being one of the most frequented National Forests in the country, proper education to visitors is key in order to keep the forest and the wildlife that call it home both protected and respected. With no future plans to re-open the Educational Center in Pisgah, PCTU stepped in to aid with education. The plan is simple and constructive–place an educational trout aquarium in the Brevard Visitor Center. Here, tourists can visually see the trout species that live in our mountain streams and learn why they are an integral part of Pisgah’s ecosystem. This project will also be a part of Trout in the Classroom, where students from local schools will learn responsibility from helping maintain the aquarium, conduct scientific studies done in the classroom on the life cycles and behaviors of trout, grasp the importance of conservation and more.
