Currently entering its 16th year, the Carolina Mountains Literary Festival (CMLF) has become a beloved Carolina Mountains tradition. Held each fall the weekend after Labor Day, CMLF is a weekend-long celebration of all things literary, bringing together readers and writers from the WNC region and beyond. Over just two days (and two evenings) CMLF delivers over 50 free presentations, 5 low cost workshops, multiple author school visits (at no-cost to the school and often including free books for students), nationally known keynote speakers, and local community partnerships with Parkway Playhouse, Yancey County Library, Plott Hound Books among others.
