Join Invisible Planet exhibiting artists, Kara Virginia Russo & Joseph Smolin, in GCCA’s Main Gallery on Tuesday, July 11th, from 6 – 7 PM. Russo & Smolin will each be presenting a 30 minute demonstration in their respective mediums and styles. You will first get to see "Layering Techniques in Mixed Media” with Kara Virginia Russo where she will demonstrate techniques including wet in wet ink, various resist methods, unconventional media combinations, and final dry media applications. These techniques can be immediately applied to add depth and interest to any style of art. Then Joseph Smolin will demonstrate "Character Creation through Shape & Symbol”. Smolin will demonstrate his process for character design, focusing specifically on initial sketch conception. The demo will focus on both conceptual attributes and character form and feature. This can be applicable to any artist interested in iterative sketching, character integration, and how symbology can deepen their work.
