Here's a "classic" album you probably have never heard, unless you lived around the Chicago blues scene ~1979. That's when this smokin' album was recorded and released (originally called After Work), only to go out of print shortly thereafter. Fortunately, Delmark Records has reissued it, along with some bonus tracks, all of which are hot. Queen Sylvia delivered fiery gospel blues vocals along with her bass, and (former husband) John Embry laid down a "hard-hitting style of ringing, cutting guitar playing that makes no concessions to disco, rock, or slick soul", as a review claimed back then.
