A troubadour, a singer/songwriter, a folky, and a storyteller: Ellis Paul has embodied all of these well since emerging out of the fertile Boston music scene in the early 1990's. He now calls Charlottesville, VA home, and has a new release chronicling the life of a traveling troubadour and more, called "The Storyteller's Suitcase." He plays Isis in West Asheville, NC on Friday, then spends the week at the Swannanoa Gathering for Contemporary Folk Week.

Live Wednesday, June 19th between 2 & 3pm: Horse Feathers

Alexandra Brennan

This indie-folk-rock band may be out of Portland, Oregon, and frontman Justin Ringle from Idaho, but they've got some Southern and specifically Asheville influences as well. Get to know them Wednesday afternoon when they visit on their way to their show at the Mothlight in West Asheville.

Richard Shindell
Paolo Brillo

He was one of the premiere singer/songwriters during that genre's prolific era of the '90's (including great collaborations like Cry Cry Cry with Dar Williams and Lucy Kaplansky), and he's continued to release wonderful albums since then, from his homes in both New York and Argentina. He's back in the area for a show in West Asheville on Thursday night, and in Charlotte on Sunday March 3rd.
