Tyler Ramsey

Two bands featured in Studio B
Lauren Wasmund and Nate Tadlock

Studio B Rewind Host Kim Clark says we have a few of our long-time favorite musicians featured this week. The Tim O'Brien Band was in our studio back in May, playing tunes from the group's recent self-titled album. We'll share music from that multitalented band's session. Plus, we'll feature the music of former Band of Horses lead guitarist and awesome singer-songwriter Tyler Ramsey, who has just released his first solo album in eight years. Stay with us! It all begins at 7pm on Sunday.

WNCW's new music podcast has lots of great new music featured here, with regional favorites from western NC like Tyler Ramsey and Rising Appalachia, and our segue of the show pairing songs written decades ago which have been covered many times, one of which is a brand new version from Charlie Hunter and Lucy Woodward.  Many of the songs on this podcast are also available on one of our Spotify playlists, titled “WNCW New Music.”

Live Thursday, May 9th just past 3pm: Tyler Ramsey

“Spending my time here in North Carolina, swimming in the stream and walking around in the woods, it’s part of my character as a musician,” says Tyler Ramsey, whose piece of land outside Asheville has definitely inspired his rich, lush new solo album "For the Morning", his first since his long tenure with Band of Horses. Roland chats with him in Studio B before his show with band at the Asheville Masonic Temple on Saturday.
