It could be easy to lose sight of this, with all of the trials and tribulations we have endured in 2020, but Steep Canyon Rangers is having a banner year. Beginning with their live album North Carolina Songbook, continuing with a surprise collaboration with Boyz II Men on the remake of their song “Be Still Moses”, and finishing with their studio album Arm in Arm, the western North Carolina six piece band has been fully en fuego despite all of the cold water thrown on the music world lately.

Woody Platt and Graham Sharp from the Steep Canyon Rangers will stop by WNCW-FM on Monday, September 28 during the 10:00 AM hour. They will talk about their new album Arm in Arm, which comes out on October 16. The two will also play some tracks directly from the new CD as well as a live song.

Live Friday, October 4th between 3 & 4pm: Front Country

Oct 2, 2019

The "string-band pop" of Front Country fits a niche that is appealing to fans of both bluegrass, and the modern soul and rock acts we enjoy playing. Melody Walker, Adam Roszkiewicz, Jacob Groopman, & Jeremy Darrow return to Studio B before their Friday show at Pisgah Brewing Company.  "As exciting a band on stage as they are in the studio, Front Country stands strong and tall in today's American roots music scene." -Woody Platt, Steep Canyon Rangers

It's time for the Mountain Song Festival and folks are gearing up for another incredible music event at one of the most popular venues in western North Carolina, the Brevard Music Center in Brevard, North Carolina. The lineup, as usual, is phenomenal. The host band is a WNCW fave, The Steep Canyon Rangers. The Grammy Award winning group calls "The Land of Waterfalls" home - and, to the delight of music lovers, they play multiple times during the festival. Yes. The amazing, full lineup for the three day event looks like this:
