Bands posing and playing music in Studio B
By Lauren Wasmund and Steel Wheels

"It's certainly not unusual for us to have a blues band in our studio, and it's not unheard of for us to have a one-man band play live for us either, said Kim Clark. "It is, however, unusual for us to host a one-man blues band that features Tuvan throat singing, a suitcase used as a bass drum, with a box of bones and silverware, a baby shoe hitting a gas can, a circular saw blade, and a cook pot.

“We know where we come from. We are a string band from Virginia, but we are evolving with this album, and we are embracing the future.” The album is "Over the Trees", which comes out on July 12th, which coincides with the start of their own Red Wing Roots Music Festival at Natural Chimneys Park in Mt. Solon, VA. We'll see if we can coax them into playing a new tune or two, live! They play in Yadkinville, NC on Saturday the 15th.

Two of our favorite contemporary Americana stringbands, in a double-bill! Join Joe Kendrick as we bring you live interview sessions from both, amongst their soundchecks for their Thursday night show in Shelby, NC. We expect to go live with The Steel Wheels around 3:30pm, and Chatham County Line a bit past 5:00 pm.
