Kathy Mattea Live Friday, February 22nd around 4:30pm

Feb 18, 2019

As the saying (sort of) goes, you can take the singer out of West Virginia.... but Nashville's CMA-award winning Kathy Mattea has always treasured her Appalachian mountain roots, and they are stronger than ever on her most recent recordings, including last year's Pretty Bird. We are pleased to welcome her back to the WNCW airwaves with a live interview/session from The Don Gibson Theatre in Shelby on Friday afternoon, before her concert that evening.

Calling the Herd! One of our favorite bands returns to the WNCW airwaves, this time from the stage of the Don Gibson Theatre in Shelby, NC. We'll air an interview between Joe Kendrick and Jeb, Tara & the gang in Donna the Buffalo, recorded during their soundcheck before their Saturday December 1st show there. They've got a great new album, so let's Dance in the Street!

This 13-years-old musician has grown up in Madisonville, TN honing her old-school country style at churches, community gatherings, and festivals. An amateur video of a flea market appearance of her in 2014 went viral, garnering 14 million YouTube views and half a million Facebook followers. Following appearances on The Today Show and the Grand Ole Opry a dozen or so times, she and her family band make their debut Studio B appearance on Friday morning before heading to the Don Gibson Theatre in Shelby.
