Staffers at Isothermal Community College, in Spindale NC - home to WNCW, were honored to welcome guest speaker, Jeffrey Blount, retired veteran director of NBC News programs like the Today Show and Meet The Press. Blount worked with the network for more than 30 years and is also an author, an award winning documentary script writer, and winner of an Emmy.  Blount is traveling across the country to talk about his latest book, The Emancipation of Evan Walls, and to share thoughts on issues involving race and social justice.

Musicians Greg Greenway and Reggie Harris are known for traveling across the country and performing songs that deal with race in America.  Greg is white.  Reggie is African-American.  They have a unique relationship that has enabled them to write and share passionate songs on the topic of race-relations.  Called "Deeper Than The Skin" A Musical Presentation on Race in America, the program and concert comes to Tryon on Nov. 13th.  Guest of this Friday Feature is Robin Edgar, writer and workshop facilitator, an organizer of the program.
