We'll be airing audio clips on Woodstock Day from interviews Martin Anderson recorded with members of the WNCW Community... members who were at Woodstock, groovin' on Max's farm, in 1969. We'll share them all day and into the night TODAY, Friday, August 16, 2019. We'll hear from our friends, long time supporters and Woodstock Alum  Bill Burdett, Al Petteway, Pam Budd and Brad Hunt. We're having a fab time sharing peace and music with you on Grassroots, Listener-Powered Radio WNCW - 88.7 FM.

Isothermal Community College recently hosted the North Carolina Association of Community College Presidents Summer Quarterly Meeting.  Over 50 college presidents from all over the state gathered on the ICC campus.  This included outgoing President of the NCACCP, this past year, Dr. David Shockley - president of Surry Community College.  Shockley is guest on this Friday Feature from August 9, 2019.

WNCW had the opportunity to again connect with WFAE Public Radio, Charlotte and Reporter Steve Harrison about the latest involving District 9, which has received national attention in the past for voter fraud and feelings about next year's Republican National Convention.  This includes the candidates set to face off in November in District 9 and fundraising on both sides of the ticket, Democrat and Republican.  The interview first aired August 7, 2019.

We’re super psyched to invite you to be a part of our special one-day Celebration of Woodstock - Friday, August 16th. It’s the 50th anniversary of the iconic event that changed rock ‘n’ roll forever. We’ll be mixing up a groovy batch of music to celebrate and commemorate the famous festival, and we’re also hosting a one-day funder during Woodstock Day.

We set the stage Sunday evening, August 11 for our all-day Woodstock 50th anniversary celebration coming up on Friday, August 16 by listening to sessions with performers who took the stage on Max Yasgur's farm back in 1969 and, who also played live in Studio B: Jorma Kaukonen in a session from 2007, a 2009 in-studio with John Sebastian along with David Grisman, and Melanie, who was here in 2002. It's a true rewind of rewinds - Sunday, August 11, at 7pm with Kim Clark.

As most of the band members grew up in "Mill Hill Towns" such as Pacolet, Glendale, Spartanburg etc., they took their name from a term often used during the booming textile era of our region. Learn more about it, and the band, this Saturday on "Goin' Across the Mountain!"
