Peak of the Week: Various Artists -- The Next Waltz, Volume 3. Bruce Robison has been making some rich, warm recordings of some of Americana music’s best singer/songwriters lately. These are all analog recordings, from his home studio outside Austin, TX known as “The Bunker”. This volume includes Charley Crockett, Jack Ingram, The Panhandlers, & Bruce and his wife Kelly Willis. See if you notice the quality, and any commonalities they all share.

This Week on New Tunes at Two we'll explore four new releases.

Indie-folk, vintage pop, and maybe a little glam-rock make their way into the exploration of self-doubt, sexuality, and identity in Tasjan! Tasjan! Tasjan!, the newest album by Aaron Lee Tasjan.

Join us for Peak of the Week this Thursday night beginning at 8pm, when Ross will feature this album as part of the music mix.

This week, in addition to hosting your Fat Tuesday soundtrack with Mardi Gras tunes all day long, we will continue to have some great new releases to feature during New Tunes at Two. The artist lineup for this week includes Femi Kuti (2/15), Southern Culture on the Skids (2/16), Clint Roberts (2/17) and various well-known artists singing songs from Johnny Cash's writings (2/18). Join us Monday through Thursday during the 2pm hour as we highlight tracks from new music that has recently been released or will be released soon!

We lost songwriter Justin Townes Earle last year. Steve Earle has made a loving tribute to his son and his legacy of great work through his most recent album J.T.. Thursday evening during Peak of the Week with host Ross O'Neal, we'll listen to this release.

Mondays through Thursdays during the 2pm hour, we enjoy a segment called New Tunes at Two. We sample tracks from new releases by artists we know and love as well as emerging artists. This week on New Tunes at Two, join us for music from Valerie June (2/8), Willie Nelson (2/9), Justin Moses (2/10), and Big Takeover (2/11).

This week during New Tunes at Two, we’ll check out new music from Langhorne Slim, Aaron Frazer, Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio, and Brighter Days Ahead. Join us Monday through Thursday during the 2pm hour as we enjoy new tunes together.

This week we look forward to featuring new releases from Aaron Lee Tasjan (1/11), Roland Roberts (1/12), The New Waltz (1/13), and Prateek Kuhad (1/14). We’re looking forward to featuring some great new music to kick off the first full week of 2021! During “New Tunes at Two” this week, our lineup includes music by Sturgill Simpson (1/4), Kacy & Clayton with Marlon Williams (1/5), Keller Williams with Erothyme (1/6), and Paul McCartney (1/7).

On Monday, we will dive into Sturgill Simpson’s new release “Cuttin’ Grass Vol. 2 - The Butcher Shop Sessions”. This was released in mid-December and is the second installment in a series where Simpson mixes his best-loved songs with his bluegrass roots.
