"This week on Studio B Rewind, we'll remember former Studio B Engineer and longtime WNCW Bluegrass and Gospel Music Host Dennis Jones by listening to him not only engineer sound, but also conduct interviews with some of the bluegrass legends that have graced our studio including Tut Taylor, Doyle Lawson, Charlie Waller, and the Lonesome River Band," said Host Kim Clark. It's a special Studio B coming your way at 7pm Sunday - a show created to honor Walter  "Dennis"  Jones who passed away Friday, June 14th in Shelby, North Carolina. Rest in peace Dennis Jones.

The Primitive Quartet began in 1973, when two sets of brothers, Reagan and Larry Riddle and Furman and Norman Wilson, carried a guitar and mandolin with them on a fishing trip to Fontana Lake. The boys all sang at home and in church, but that night in Graham County was when they first sang in four-part harmony. After the fishing trip, with the encouragement of their parents and pastor, they began to sing together at area churches.

It’s nearly impossible to explain the exceptional talents of EmiSunshine, the 14-year-old singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Madisonville, TN. While the music of this “modern-day Janis Joplin” has been described as “old-timey,” she adds her own unique, contemporary blend of roots music that is equal parts Americana, bluegrass, gospel, and country, with a sprinkling of blues, delivering vivid emotion with every spirited yet haunting note. She'll be at the Isothermal Community College Performing Arts Center, Saturday, October 6th. Showtime is at 7:30pm

The 2018 International Bluegrass Music Award Ceremony was held last week in Raleigh, North Carolina at The Duke Energy Center for Performing Arts. The event was hosted by one of WNCW's favorite bands, HOT RIZE. Many of the IBMA musicians are long time friends of our grassroots, listener-powered radio station and we want to take time and congratulate the winners - Job well done!

She's sold more than 12 million records, won 27 Grammys, nine Country Music Association Awards, 14 International Bluegrass Music Association Awards, two Academy of Country Music Awards AND two Gospel Music Association Awards. We've been playing her music on WNCW for almost three decades! She'll be in Cherokee, NC this Friday, September 21st at Harrah's. Showtime is 9pm. More Info
